Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sarah’s Labs (“we”, “us”, “the site”) handles information. It applies to the Sarah’s Labs home page at https://sarahslabs.clickfreetools.com and to every lab published under it, including Sarah’s PDF Lab (sarahspdflab.clickfreetools.com), Sarah’s Photo Lab (sarahsphotolab.clickfreetools.com) and any lab added in the future (together, “the labs”). We built the labs to be private by design: your files are processed on your own device and are never sent to us.
In short: we do not upload, store or read your files. We do not require an account. Third-party services, including advertising partners, may use cookies as described below.
1. Your files
All editing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. In the PDF Lab this includes merging, compressing, rotating, deleting, reordering, extracting, protecting with a password, and converting images to PDF. In the Photo Lab it includes removing backgrounds, retouching, cropping, filters, text and stickers, and converting image formats. Your documents, photos, passwords and previews stay in your device’s memory and disappear when you close or reload the tab. We cannot see them and cannot recover them or any password you set.
2. Information we collect
We do not ask for your name, email or any account details to use the labs. The only information that may be collected comes from:
- Hosting and server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and reliability.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message, and we use it only to reply.
- Cookies and similar technologies placed by third parties, described in the next sections.
3. Cookies and advertising
We may display ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a consent management platform before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the labs will keep working, but ads may be less relevant.
4. Third-party services
To work, the sites load resources from third parties, which may receive your IP address and browser details when your browser requests them:
- Google Fonts (fonts and icons).
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) and jsDelivr (open-source libraries such as PDF.js, pdf-lib and jsPDF, used by the PDF Lab).
- Google AdSense (advertising, if enabled).
- Buy Me a Coffee and GitHub (links only). If you click them you leave our site and their own privacy policies apply. We never receive your payment information.
Live previews. The Sarah’s Labs home page shows the labs in small embedded windows. Loading a preview is equivalent to visiting that lab: it can create hosting logs and load the same third-party resources. Previews are display-only, and no file is ever opened or sent through them.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information above only to operate and secure the sites, understand and fix technical problems, answer your messages, show advertising, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep server logs and emails only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Files you open in the labs are never retained because they never leave your device.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA/UK, the LGPD in Brazil, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests will concern emails you sent us. To exercise a right, contact us at contact@clickfreetools.com. Other than through standard advertising cookies as described above, which you can opt out of, we do not sell or share your personal information.
8. Children
The labs are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
The sites are served over HTTPS and your files never leave your browser, which greatly reduces exposure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when a new lab is added. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the sites after an update means you accept the revised policy.
