Terms of Service

Welcome to Sarah’s Labs (https://sarahslabs.clickfreetools.com). These Terms of Service apply to the Sarah’s Labs home page and to every lab published under it, including Sarah’s PDF Lab (sarahspdflab.clickfreetools.com), Sarah’s Photo Lab (sarahsphotolab.clickfreetools.com) and any lab added in the future (together, “the labs”). By accessing or using the labs, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. The service

Sarah’s Labs is a collection of free online tools. Sarah’s PDF Lab edits PDF files: merging, compressing, rotating, deleting, reordering and extracting pages, adding password protection, and converting images to PDF. Sarah’s Photo Lab is a layer-based photo editor: removing backgrounds, retouching, cropping, rotating, filters, color adjustments, text and stickers, borders, and converting images between formats. All processing happens in your browser on your own device.

2. Who may use it

You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country, or have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for using the labs in line with the laws that apply to you.

3. Your files and content

• You keep all rights to your files. We do not receive, host or claim any rights over them.
• You confirm that you have the right to open, modify and share any file you process.
• You are responsible for keeping backups. Always keep a copy of your original files.
• Edits are not stored on our servers. If you close or reload the tab without saving, your work is lost.
• If you protect a PDF with a password, we cannot recover it. If you lose it, the file may be permanently inaccessible.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the labs to:

• violate any law or the rights of others, including copyright and privacy rights;
• process unlawful content, or content that exploits or harms others;
• interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the labs or their infrastructure;
• use automated means to scrape the sites or to generate artificial ad impressions or clicks.

5. How the tools behave

Some features change your files in ways you should know about.

• PDF compression converts pages to images, so text in the result can no longer be selected or searched, and the result may not always be smaller than the original.
• PDF password protection applies standard PDF encryption and permission flags. Permission restrictions are not enforced by every PDF reader and should not be your only safeguard for highly sensitive documents.
• Background removal works by color, so it may leave halos or remove similar colors inside the subject. Always review the result.
• Saving images in a format without transparency (such as JPG) fills transparent areas with white. Converting between formats can change file size and quality, and some formats (such as AVIF or WEBP) depend on what your browser supports.
• Large files may be slow or fail depending on your device’s memory.

6. Free service, ads and donations

The labs are free to use. We may display advertisements and offer optional voluntary donations through Buy Me a Coffee. Donations are not payment for a product, do not create a customer relationship, and are generally non-refundable. They do not give you any special rights or support level.

7. Intellectual property

The design, text and branding of Sarah’s Labs belong to us or our licensors. The labs use open-source libraries, fonts and icons (such as PDF.js, pdf-lib, jsPDF, Inter and Material Symbols), which remain under their respective licenses. You may not copy or redistribute the design or branding of the labs without permission.

8. Third-party links and services

The labs link to and load resources from third parties (for example Google, GitHub and Buy Me a Coffee). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The labs are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted and error-free operation. We do not guarantee that output files will be free of errors or compatible with every PDF reader, image viewer or program.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the labs. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the labs, which for a free service is zero. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under mandatory consumer-protection law.

11. Changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any lab or any part of the site at any time, and we may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory law in your country of residence says otherwise.
